Asante – Thank You
On Saturday, March 19th we had our Spring 2022 fundraiser at Coventry Reserve in Wylie, TX.
The objective of the fundraiser was to raise funds to continue building the proposed Ageno Community Center near Kendu Bay, Kenya, but we also took the opportunity to give attendees a brief glimpse of some of the programs and services we plan to provide to our children at Ageno Community Center.
One of our key objectives at Ageno is to create programs that will give children with special needs the ability to become independent. We were privileged to have Jovann Kung, an extraordinary young artist and entrepreneur, who showcased products designed by his company, Meaningful Existence. Jovann donated all the profits from his sales during the fundraiser toward the construction of Ageno Community Center.
There was a special performance by Bandan Koro African Drum & Dance Ensemble. Their performance was fun and engaging. We had activities for children and a marketplace for authentic African jewelry, apparel, artwork. Guests were treated to delicious African treats.
Thank you for your financial gifts before, during and after the fundraiser. Your gifts enabled us to start construction and your donations during this fundraiser will enable us to put up the walls. Feel free to go to our website www.ageno.org and donate if you would like to help us complete the building.
Special thanks to the team that put in many hours to make the event a success. We also convey our gratitude to Coventry Reserve for hosting the fundraiser event once more in 2022. Those of you who have been following us for a while know that Coventry Reserve is a source of inspiration for Ageno Community.
