Thanksgiving
As we approach Thanksgiving Day 2022, let me share with you some of the blessings Ageno has received this year for which we are thankful to God.
We broke ground to start building Ageno Center near Kendu Bay, Kenya in December 2021 and completed the building foundation in January. We continued to trust God for funds to continue building beyond the foundation.
In March, Coventry Reserve allowed Ageno to use their wonderful facility in St. Paul, Texas for the third year in a row for our Spring 2022 fundraiser. Many friends and supporters of Ageno showed up and made the fundraiser a very successful event. This enabled us to raise additional funds, much more than we had expected, for the Ageno Centre building project.
In June, Coventry Reserve surprised Ageno with a substantial gift toward the Ageno building project. With this gift we would be able to build all the way to the roof cover.
In July, we had a five-day retreat in Kendu Bay, Kenya with some families whose children participate in Ageno programs. They shared experiences, their dreams and goals for their children, their hopes for the Ageno program and potential ways to sustain Ageno operations. We invited the architect to share the plans for Ageno Centre with the families after which they planted trees.
In September and October, we held garage sales in which we were again blessed to raise more than we had anticipated. Some very special friends helped plan and run the garage sales and even donated items to sell.
This past week, after completing additional regulatory requirements and working the details to ensure that we only did as much building as we could pay for, we restarted the building project and we expect to complete the main walls by December and the roof cover by mid-January.
All through this year you have individually blessed Ageno tremendously—financially, with your time and through your encouragement. I do not have your permission to disclose who you are or your gifts to Ageno, but I want to say thank you so much. I thank God for speaking to your heart on behalf of Ageno and pray that He may bless you and those you love immeasurably beyond your biggest dreams.
Because of all these blessings above, I am very thankful to God for you and for the gifts with which He enabled you to bless Ageno.
Thank you so much,
Lydia
